Opening of the Orient Express Restaurant goes back to 1890. The building, built by the Prussian architect Jasmund, inspired the design of all the railway stations in Central Europe. The restaurants and beer garden, which have been operating in the same years, have been a stopping place for passers-by.
The Guardian Newspaper, which compiles the top 10 Gar restaurants in Europe, took the Orient Express, which has been serving in Sirkeci Gari since 1890, in the 7th place. The newspaper portrayed the Orient Express as a “calm paradise in a curcunic station.”
